Based in Sydney’s Northern Beaches, the primary purpose of this position is to deliver bookkeeping services to a diverse range of clients.

Reporting to the Head of Bookkeeping your daily role & responsibilities would be to provide general bookkeeping for a diverse range of clients including:

  • Coding of bank transactions and performing monthly/quarterly bank reconciliations
  • Preparing and sending invoices along with debtor management
  • Coding purchase invoices and processing payments as required
  • Processing payroll and maintaining employee records
  • Preparing and maintaining fixed asset registers
  • Create and maintain a chart of accounts
  • Correctly coding transactions for GST
  • Identifying process improvements in the finance function of clients
  • Preparation of Business Activity Statements (BAS)
  • Preparation of Year End Income Statements
  • Assisting with adhoc tasks as required from time to time
  • Proactively liaising with clients on a regular basis

Personal attributes would ideally include:

  • Adhering to Mukiwa values, particularly around service delivery to our clients
  • Highly efficient, with strong attention to detail
  • Strong administrative & time management skills
  • At least a Cert IV in Bookkeeping (or similar)
  • Registered BAS Agent preferred
  • Xero Certified is preferred
  • MYOB Certified is preferred
  • Experience with other cloud-based applications e.g. Hubdoc
  • The ability to prioritise and juggle tasks/roles
  • The ability to work independently, taking responsibility for tasks given, showing initiative, and making informed and considered decisions
  • The ability to work under pressure and autonomously
  • The ability to work in a team, assisting other consultants as and when required
  • The ability to pick up new software and concepts quickly
  • Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills
  • A good working knowledge of Microsoft Office products, particularly Outlook, Excel and Word
  • Driven by delivering results and solutions, being innovative and lateral thinking to ensure our clients receive the best possible service and advice
  • Being professional, ethical and displaying integrity at all times, both with clients and team members

To be successful in this role you will have previous bookkeeping experience (5+ years) to a senior level, preferably within another bookkeeping firm.

This role would expected to be permanent part-time (minimum expectation 15-22.5 hours per week).
