Xero Bookkeeper (part-time)

We are currently recruiting for an exceptional, fun-loving bookkeeper who wants to join our awesome team of accountants and bookkeepers.

The primary purpose of this position is to ensure the effective delivery of basic bookkeeping services for a range of clients.

Reporting to a team of accountants, your responsibilities will include:

  • The bookkeeping duties for a portfolio of clients; including:
    • Coding of bank transactions and performing monthly/quarterly bank reconciliations
    • Preparing and sending invoices along with debtor management
    • Coding purchase invoices and processing payments as required
    • Processing payroll and maintaining employee records
    • Preparing and maintaining fixed asset registers
    • Create and maintain a chart of accounts
    • Correctly coding transactions for GST
    • Identifying process improvements in the finance function of clients
    • Reporting for preparation of a Business Activity Statements (BAS)
  • Assisting with other tasks as required from time to time

Personal attributes would include:

  • Adhering to Mukiwa values, particularly around service delivery to our clients
  • Highly efficient, with strong attention to detail
  • Good time management skills
  • Certified or be studying towards a Cert IV in Bookkeeping (or similar)
  • Registered or be working towards BAS Agent registration
  • The ability to prioritise and juggle tasks/roles
  • The ability to work independently, taking responsibility for tasks given, showing initiative and making informed and considered decisions
  • The ability to work in a team, assisting other consultants as and when required
  • The ability to pick up new software and concepts quickly
  • Experience with Xero, ReceiptBank and Hubdoc cloud-based software is preferred
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • A good working knowledge of Microsoft Office products, particularly Outlook, Excel and Word
  • Driven by delivering results and solutions, being innovative and lateral thinking to ensure our clients receive the best possible service and advice
  • Being professional, ethical and displaying integrity at all times, both with clients and team members

To be successful in this role you will have previous bookkeeping experience, preferably within another bookkeeping or accounting firm. Some travel to clients may be required.

This role would potentially suit a return-to-work parent who is looking to get back into the workforce or alternatively, an individual who has embarked on a career in bookkeeping and is looking to get hands-on experience in a professional firm.
